This book cover was created as a reinterpretation of The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis, blending traditional drawing with digital painting techniques. The initial illustration was hand-drawn on paper, then scanned and enhanced in Photoshop using layered textures, color grading, and lighting effects to build depth and atmosphere.
The concept centers on visually expressing the unsettling and manipulative nature of Screwtape through distorted features and expressive linework. Warm, aged tones and rough textures were used to evoke a sense of decay and psychological tension, aligning with the book’s themes.
The final design integrates typography and illustration into a cohesive composition, demonstrating both conceptual thinking and technical execution across traditional and digital mediums.
